This vintage chest of drawers is a solid and heavy piece. The wood top has a slight twist, the drawer fronts are also slightly twisted and there a couple of big cracks to the side of these rustic drawers, all of which lends beautifully to its character.

This chest has four large drawers that run well, have beautifully painted dovetail joints and are clean inside and ready to provide lots of storage. The original handles have been kept and cleaned and suit the style of these drawers perfectly.

The drawers have been painted in Fusion Mineral Paint ‘Soapstone’ a grey colour with ever so slight purple undertones. Layers or dark wax have been added and the edges and details of the piece have been distressed to create a rustic but beautiful finish. Clear wax has then been applied to seal and for durability.

Fusion Mineral Paint is a top quality furniture paint, with a built in primer and top coat for durability, it is environmentally friendly and child safe.
Your piece will arrive with a touch up kit should you need it in the future and also care instructions on how best to look after your furniture. These can also be found on my website

DELIVERY
Already painted pieces come with free UK (majority) mainland delivery. Where possible we aim to deliver these to you ourselves within 5-7 working days.

If we cannot deliver personally, we will send your piece via a trusted courier service that aims to deliver within 7-10 working days. Once your item has been dispatched from SFS you will be notified, the courier will then contact you at least 2 days prior to delivery to organise a time slot that you will need to confirm. This is a one man service and you may be required to assist the driver if necessary, if we do not hear otherwise we will assume you are happy to do so. If you would like to upgrade to a two man delivery service this is possible for a £20 service charge. *Please note a two man service can take slightly longer, as well as seasonal periods and some delays due to covid.

Our courier will need your phone number and email address and we can only confirm the courier service with these details from you.

*Please remember this is a vintage/pre loved piece of furniture that may show small signs of a previous life but does not affect the quality or the usability of the piece.

Care information

KEEP AWAY FROM WATER

Occasional spillages will not damage your furniture, however all spillages should be cleaned up promptly.

Avoid placing cups/glasses directly on your furniture, always try to use a coaster.

Be especially careful with alcohol/makeup/nail polish remover as this will stain your furniture.

TEMPERATURE

Temperature changes can cause damage to painted or wooden furniture over time. If you can, ideally place your furniture somewhere that is less exposed to rapid temperature changes within your home.

CLEAN REGULARLY 

In order to keep your furniture in the best condition I would advise to clean weekly, using a damp lint free cloth and dry thoroughly with a dry cloth. 

For furniture that has been sealed with wax you can apply a clear wax once or twice a year to maintain water resistance and shine. (I recommend ‘Rust Oleum’ clear furniture wax). NOTE This only applies to chalk painted furniture.

PLACING ITEMS

I recommend using felt backing for large items such as lamps and ornaments to avoid marking your furniture. 

TOUCH UPS

Make sure the area you intend to paint is clean and dry. Using a small amount of paint on your brush, touch up the necessary area and allow it to dry for at least four hours before applying a second coat.
